This is completely nonsensical, Allen thought as he watched his upside-down reflection go by on a floating mirror. No sense at all! This was, of course, the point. Road had never meant for this to be a pleasure cruise.
All around him things were suspended in the air - a book, a rocking chair, even a full fireplace - he watched them hover by with curiousity, but also a tiny bit of fear. In a world made by the sadistic and unpredictable Road Camelot, nothing could be trusted.
As he floated ever downwards at a disturbingly leisurely pace, Allen felt the discontent growing. Why bring me HERE of all places? What is this place even? It must be one of Road's dream worlds, but I haven't been attacked yet...
Suddenly the angles shifted; Allen was upside down now, and just when he had no idea what could possibly happen next, his head collided with a hard surface, and then the rest of his body caught up and he collapsed.
When the throbbing sting passed Allen stood and saw someone up ahead of him. A woman with black hair dressed as a rabbit - a white rabbit! She was holding a huge gold pocketwatch and was checking it complusively. "I'm late," she moaned, pacing in red high heels that clicked on the marble floors. "I'm late, I'm late! For a very important date!"
When she turned around, Allen gasped, and reached out for her. "Miranda!" She jumped, squeaking, and screamed when she saw him. "I'M LATE!" She hugged the pocketwatch to her and took off running down the hall, the sound of her heeled shoes echoeing emptily off the walls. He started to run after her, ignoring the pain of his bruised forehead. Miranda is here?! If she is, then maybe the others are, too!
He chased after her, and somewhere in the depths of the maze he had unwillingly entered, a girl was laughing.
